Imagine a space where innovation meets community, a platform that brings hidden tech advancements to the forefront. That’s what the Confluence Thought Series aims to achieve. Spawned from the pandemic era’s isolation, this event seeks to turn challenges into opportunities, focusing on creating a collaborative environment in West Michigan. Brian Cohen, with his diverse background in architecture, film, and music festivals, envisioned this series as a means to showcase local innovation and foster connections across various sectors.
By providing a platform for thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators, the Confluence Thought Series encourages the exchange of ideas and collaboration across industries. It highlights the region’s potential, showing students and professionals alike that they need not look beyond Michigan to find opportunities for growth and innovation. The series not only showcases technological advancements but also emphasizes the importance of culture, relationships, and community in achieving sustainable progress.
“We Make Things: Building Better Communities, Businesses and Teams” takes place April 15 and 16 at Kendall College of Art and Design and presents two days of in-depth conversations from influential leaders in tech and business from the region. The event also includes field trip experiences where attendees will go behind-the-scenes in local offices where transformative ideas come to life.
Each year, the series selects a theme that resonates with the current technological landscape and community needs. Previous themes have included MedTech, tech hub creation, and innovation rainforests, each drawing a diverse crowd of attendees from various sectors. The series’ unique approach to combining fields such as HR, philanthropy, AI, and more on shared panels has resulted in groundbreaking discussions and unexpected collaborations.
The Confluence Thought Series offers numerous ways for individuals and organizations to get involved. Whether you’re a thought leader interested in sharing your insights, a company eager to host a field trip, or simply someone looking to learn and network, there’s a place for you. By attending, you contribute to a vibrant community of innovators and help shape the future of West Michigan’s tech landscape.
