The Symplicity Communications team is always looking for ways to learn and develop our knowledge of the latest trends for our clients. Tech Week Grand Rapids 2024 provided a great opportunity for development, networking, and to connect with our community, and our team took full advantage of all of the offerings the event provided.
Symplicity team members were present at many different events throughout the week, from Kickoff events with the CEO of Kickstarter, Everette Taylor and co-author of ‘Freakonomics’ Stephen Dubner to Tech Talks and Tech on the Deck.
The kickoff events were great opportunities to talk about what it takes to find success and what success looks like to different people. We particularly enjoyed Everette Taylor’s talk with the Econ Club about being kind to people and working hard. One of the tenants of Symplicity Communications’ success is “do the right thing, even when no one is watching,” so this was something that resonated with our team.
AI of course was a huge discussion point during the week, and speakers like Stephen Dubner provided a great avenue to discuss how technology shapes the world that we live in and how much the needs of people shift every year.
Tech on the Deck and other events provided great opportunities and inviting atmospheres to network and meet like-minded people eager to help others, while Tech Talks gave us a space to discuss the extremely impactful applications for technology in our lives, especially in the healthcare sector.
One of our favorite events was ‘Breaking Barriers: Women Driving Innovation Across Industry.’ It was an inclusive, open and engaging panel event featuring four remarkable women in the industry. Their discussion was a powerful reminder that paths are not always linear, and that sometimes success can take time.
