Insights On Lifting Others Up
On the latest episode of Symplicity Conversations we continued our special four-part series leading up to the West Michigan Woman Brilliance Summit by featuring two remarkable women: Latricia Trice and Kirsten Pipp, both recognized for their extraordinary impact in our community.
The Gift of Lift
Latricia Trice, founder and CEO of Ltrice Marketing and Consulting, was named the West Michigan Woman Brilliant Connector Top Honoree this past spring. For Latricia, being recognized was not just an accolade; it was a validation of her lifelong passion for connecting people. “It was such a great honor to be recognized for something that I’m super passionate about,” she shared. Her instinct to connect comes from her mother, who taught her that helping others is a calling.
Kirsten Pipp, founder of Bloom Social and recognized as the West Michigan Woman Brilliant Social Change Agent, echoed similar sentiments. She highlighted the importance of her volunteer work, stating, “It validated that I do need to keep going and keep following my heart and my passions.”
Their stories remind us that recognition is not merely for personal achievement, but a celebration of community and collaboration.
The Ripple Effect
During the conversation, we talked about the ripple effect of our actions. When we help others, we may not see the immediate impact, but it can inspire those around us to act with kindness and generosity. Latricia emphasized that connecting isn’t just about networking; it’s about creating intentional relationships. “When I’m talking to someone, I’m listening for what they need and thinking about who could help them,” she explained. This mindset fosters a supportive community where everyone can rise.
Honoring Connections
Latricia introduced a powerful concept: the “gift of lift.” This idea encapsulates the responsibility we have to use our influence to elevate others. She mentioned that it’s about more than just making introductions; it’s recognizing opportunities for others to thrive. “If you’ve been blessed, you should be a blessing to other people,” Latricia stated.
Honoring connections is essential. Whether it’s through a simple thank-you note or following through on introductions, acknowledging the efforts of those who help us is crucial. It creates a culture of gratitude and respect that strengthens community bonds.
We hope you take this as a reminder that lifting others is a collective endeavor. As we approach the Brilliance Summit on November 5th, let’s carry forward the lessons of connection, community, and the profound impact we can have on each other.
In this spirit, let’s reflect on how we can each contribute to the gift of lift in our own lives.
