Recently, Chief CX Officer Paul Nagel attended the Intelisys AMP’d for Growth technology event in Dallas, Texas. AMP’d for Growth was a full-day, multi-technology experience with breakout sessions and educational opportunities.
The events Paul attended were focused on AI, Large Language Models (LLM) and ChatGPT discussions, and how businesses are finding new and innovative ways to use AI effectively and efficiently.
In the past, AI companies have been asking customers and clients, “What do you want to do with AI?” and relied on customers giving them answers and direction. Instead, AI companies and service providers should be going into these discussions and meetings with use cases to show customers and clients all of the options available and at their disposal. According to Paul, “AI providers need to be prescriptive instead of diagnostic.”
Good examples of service providers utilizing AI in a positive and perhaps unexpected way are some of the circuit providers Symplicity has worked with in the past starting to use and adopt AI and apply it to their business practices while making it available for customers. These providers are in a unique position to gather the greatest amount of info about what is going on with clients and make suggestions for their benefit.
A prevalent and prevailing worry than many people have is that AI is going to “replace” people and remove the human element in the workforce. However, AI shouldn’t be looked at in such a way. If AI is replacing anything, it is the time it takes to complete the menial tasks that people don’t want to do anyway.
Instead of thinking about AI as a human replacement, we should look at three avenues that AI should be used effectively:
- As a tool that customers can use to optimize and make work more efficient.
- As a co-pilot to work side by side with human workers to give real-time suggestions and indicators.
- As a muse that can help humans be more creative and to help craft and tell a story.
